Out of Town
We are always happy to accommodate out of town patients who are interested in rhinoplasty with Dr. Murray. In fact, our structure works very similarly for both local and out of town patients.
There are 5 main steps to the process:
1. CONSULTATION
Consults are all virtual for both local as well as out of town patients. No difference there.
2. BOOKING
Final quotes will be provided following the consultation. My coordinator Nazli will assist you in planning payment, your pre-operative work-up, and all scheduling details. We do accept Care Credit as well as all major credit cards. You can plan to stay at a hotel or an AirBnB, wherever you feel most comfortable.
3. PRE-OP VISIT
You will need to plan to be in Miami a minimum of 2 days before your surgery. We will be seeing you in the office early the morning of the day before your surgery for your preoperative visit. I will go over all aspects of your nose and your desires with you again this day, so it will be fresh in my head right before your surgery day.
4. SURGERY
This is same-day surgery done at a high end outpatient surgery center. You will go home after your surgery. You need to have someone stay with you the first night after surgery, so if you come alone you will need to hire a private nurse at least for the one night. We can help you arrange this if needed.
5. POST-OPERATIVE COURSE
Generally, I will see you in the office on post operative day 6-8 to remove the cast and splints. The exact dates will depend what day your surgery is scheduled. You may fly home after cast removal. I will place a 2nd cast for you to remove at home 1 week later.ย
Remember, there will be a need to come back physically into the office periodically (perhaps every 3-6 months) for examination and possibleย injections (special cocktail of anti-inflammatories) or small touch-ups. For some, this may be unnecessary as rhinoplasty is kind of a “set it and forget it” healing process, where you just have to be patient for the 12-24 months post surgery. Again though, the healing isn’t finished after the first week, so there is always the need potentially to intervene along the way depending how it looks.
Keep this in mind when budgeting for the surgery and travel post op. We ultimately want you have the best nose possible!
